Rich, or in Love.....

     Would I rather be rich or in love? Is this a serious question? On one hand you've got tons and tons of money on which you could spend on ANYTHING you want, and on the other hand, you've got love and potentially no money at all...I think I would have to go with money. If you disagree with me, I'll state my argument again: You can buy ANYTHING you want! You can have a 10 million dollar mansion, and the 1979 Dodge Challenger that you've always wanted, and buying gas would never be a problem cause you're rich!!! Not to mention you could have the other thousand things you always wanted but were too poor to buy.
     And lastly, people always say you can't buy love...well, the truth is, you can. If you're rich, you can pretty much have anyone you want, and they'll go for it because you're rich. So yes, my answer is to be rich.

School Politics...

     I don't actually know how much a co-prez has to do with things going on around the school. I have never ran, nor have I took an interest in school politics. I don't think having a co-prez is totally necessary because the rules, changes and orders, (or whatever the co-prez does) primarily come from the people that are high up on the school board. Does a co-prez go to board meetings? No. Does a co-prez actually have a say in any real changes? Or just what colours the dance should be?
     I think that the elections are definately just popularity contests. Lets take a trip back in time to last year's election.....Jake Brennamin was one of the two that won the election last year. He literally did nothing to win. All his morning announcements were just "Vote Jake" and during his lunch, I believe it went something like this: "Hey everybody, I'm not gonna take up your lunch doing dome stupid game up here (on the stage) so just umm...vote Jake." And he won! Don't get me wrong, I like Jake. I'm just using him as my example. And he knows sooo many people at school. It's all about who you know. So he is living proof that it is just a popularity contest.

Opinion on Love....

      In response to Feick's post, I have wasted my money on roses a few times, (all at different times of the year, including the cliche'd valentine's rose gift) so "corporate Canada" definately does profit on valentines day. So yes, I once succumbed to the sappy and extremely unnecessary, and time wasting "Love Bug". Before I knew it, I had wasted two years of my life, had all my hopes and dreams crushed, and my soul was stripped.
     Feick also mentioned The Notebook....WORST....MOVIE.....EVER! It never used to be, the first time I saw it, I thought it was a good movie (despite the fact that it was a "chick flick") but it was after the 6th time seeing it that I noticed that my mouth had gone from a smile...to a depressed, angry, bored frown. I cannot sit through that movie anymore. It seems like every girl I date has The Notebook at the top of their favorite movies list. But the last time I was forced to watch it, I pretended to be sick, so I said I was going to the bathroom, and I just sat in there and played PSP for about forty minutes. When I got back, (expecting the movie to be half over, so at least i wouldn't have to endure the first half) it turns out that she had it paused the whole time and was waiting for me to come back and pick up right where I left off....
     So anyway, my main point (before I trailed off to complain about the notebook, and tell my Notebook story) is that I don't believe in "love" I think that mostly everyone (myself included) wants to have someone, which is great. But the fact that most relationships don't last, even if a couple were to stay married for life, they will still at some point get sick of each other, should be enough proof to say that love doesn't last. That shouldn't, however, stop someone from finding someone to be with. I still think that's inportant in life.

Interview Assignment ...

Here's a link to the interview spoof that Mikey and I did. We originally wanted it to be a lot longer and we had a lot more funny scenes and lines to say, but we didn't have time due to some production problems. Mikey's pretty much the star of the video, but the whole claim to comedy should go to Dustin Corey (who guest stars in the video) because he steals the entire show just in the 2 minutes that he's in it. We hope to expand on Burt Nexon's character and make more videos, whether they are more interviews or events in Burt's personal life.      Enjoy...

I have always enjoyed reading Edgar Allen Poe. He is not so old that you can't understand what he is saying, and I like the theme of all his stories. This piece from Ligeia is among my favourites.

Graffiti....

I think graffiti is an ugly form of vandalism. If you want to be an artist, go buy a brush and some paint. Sure there is the occasional cool painting that I see, But most of the graffiti that I see is just swear words and disturbing quotes. Ever been in a subway station?  I don't think that anyone has the right to tag buildings or sidewalks, or anything for that matter. And whether or not I consider the people to be vandals or artists depends on the art. Like I said, there are some really good, creative paintings out there, but I think it's mostly vandalism.

What Do I Think?

Well, truthfully, I haven't handed in, let alone even finished most of our assignments. But the one (that I actually finished) that I enjoyed most was probably the fairy tale. I think It would have ben better if we could all choose whichever we want. It would have been more enjoyable. I know there were a few people who didn't want to do Cinderella. It also would have been more interesting to listen to them all if they weren't all Cinderella.
The only assignments that drive me nuts are the ones I don't want to do...so pretty much all of them.
I like blogging. I think it's good to post things on a site where other people can see them. I had never blogged before this class, but it is something I would like to continue doing after this year ends.
I suppose I'm most looking forward to short stories, and play writing (if we can act them out)
As with all my classes, I wish I could improve with my homework habits, and working in class.

Ms. Feick, you've already done enough to make me laugh that I will look back and smile while sitting and drinking cocoa in my ripe, old age.
